Hi Stackers!
How have you been celebrating National Poetry Month?
This year, as you know, I’ve been celebrating by recording myself reading several public domain poems by various authors and sharing them with you.
Today, you can hear a poem called Clouds by Anonymous and another that features a cloud called Monadnock In Early Spring by Amy Lowell.
As we all do sometimes, I mis-pronounced “monadnock,” never having heard it spoken before. I thought perhaps it was a kind of tree, from context, but I wasn’t quite right about that, either. If you click on this link, for Monadnock in Merriam-Webster dictionary, you can click a button to hear how it’s pronounced, and you can learn what it is and then re-read, or re-listen to the poem.
(There’s a clue in the picture for this post - which was found here at the National Gallery of Art’s website.)
I hope you’re having fun! -E
